Challenge

The company managed inventory across a complex distribution network with fluctuating demand and costly overstock or stockouts. Planning lacked unified visibility and relied on manual, experience-based analysis.

What we did

FocusKPI built a Databricks-based Inventory Planner that unified demand forecasts, open and planned purchase orders, and current inventory into a single weekly view. Planners could simulate projected impacts of purchase decisions before committing—improving visibility and reducing inventory risk.

Results

Planners moved from reactive decisions to structured, simulation-driven planning with greater confidence. Decision accuracy improved, overstock and stockouts decreased, and the program expanded to a unified dashboard with broader adoption.

For the first time, we could see the projected impact of a purchase decision before we made it—that changes how you think about risk.
